Roger Skinner

aka Roger Skinner and The Motivation

A stalwart of the New Zealand music and entertainment industries since the mid-1950s, Roger Skinner is a guitarist and songwriter.

He was a member of The Pleasers and his longstanding group The Motivation, and wrote the 1967 APRA Silver Scroll winner, ‘Let’s Think of Something’, recorded by Larry’s Rebels. He appeared in all the early New Zealand TV music shows, such as On The Beat Side, Let’s Go, C’mon, and Happen Inn, and performed for years as a solo artist around Auckland.
