Pumpkinhead

The first recordings to be released by Christchurch rock band Pumpkinhead were three songs on the May 1993 Failsafe label compilation Avalanche, which also featured Loves Ugly Children, Supertanker, 147Swordfish and Lurch.

When Pumpkinhead appeared at the 95bFM Private Function concert, at the old Turners & Growers Market site, near Viaduct Basin in Auckland, the band were offered a recording deal with indie label Wildside Records.
