Zonk!

In 1970 HMV record producer Peter Dawkins suggested to Shane Hales that the J.J. Light track ‘Heya’ would make a good future single. Shane agreed but felt that the song was better suited as a group performance.

Shane and Peter assembled the best musicians available for this one-off project including Bruce "Phantom" Robinson (guitar), Rick White (ex-Tom Thumb) on bass and Quincy Conserve members Rufus Rehu (keyboards) and Bruno Lawrence (drums). Included as backing vocalists were Craig Scott, Alan Galbraith and various HMV staff members.
