Paul Martin

Hamilton has a dynamic music scene that has long been overshadowed by scenes in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. Of all the genres within the city, Hamilton’s enduring speciality remains hard rock and metal. Among this scene’s players, no one is more influential and iconic than Paul Martin.

Paul Martin has long been something of a local identity, known both for his tenure with popular metal outfit Knightshade and through his cult heavy metal radio show The Axe Attack, which was originally broadcast from the University of Waikato student radio station Contact FM.
