Tim Armstrong

No account of the Waikato music scene would be complete without a chapter on musical troubadour Tim Armstrong. A regular on the Coromandel summer circuit, doyen of Hamilton’s booming 1980-90s nightclub scene, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and tribute performer, Armstrong has done it all.

On his home turf, Armstrong is a bona fide star with a large and loyal following. Known and admired both for his original work and his work as a covers artist, for close to four decades he has managed that rarest of feats in a small community, sustaining a living from music.
