Say Yes To Apes Profile

Kevin Smith was one of New Zealand’s most popular international TV stars of the 1990s. Ares, his recurring character on Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess, and Young Hercules, gained him many fans and opened the door to what looked to be a promising film career.

This was sadly cut short by his accidental death after a fall on a film set in 2002. Back in the early to mid-80s he was a member of the band Say Yes To Apes, who could be found playing inventive and sometimes pretty wild gigs at venues in the South Island.
