Miles G. Loveless is a New Zealand drummer, singer, producer and live electronic performer who records and performs as Pikachunes.
He has released an album and an EP, remixed for the likes of KidsOf88, Zowie, Tono and the Finance Company and Cat Venom, provided guest vocals for Tommy Ill and co-written music with Princess Chelsea.
Originally from Christchurch, Loveless started playing drums at age nine before entering the Smokefree Rockquest during high school with his first band Frankly Mauve. After finishing high school, they renamed themselves Tiny Paper Daggers and recorded and performed around the city.
Loveless then attended jazz school, where he played in a funk and soul band and began his electronic singer-songwriter project Pikachunes. Soon afterwards he joined indie dance band Tiger Tones.
In 2010 Loveless relocated to Auckland with Tiger Tones. He then signed his Pikachunes project to Lil' Chief Records and began collaborating and performing with Princess Chelsea.
Loveless released his first self-titled Pikachunes album in 2010. He followed this up early in 2013 with an EP titled Miles. He plans to release his second album before the end of 2013.
On the side, Loveless has established himself as a composer for film and television. He has scored a couple of short films and had multiple songs placed on the Go Girls televisions show.
Loveless has extensively toured New Zealand. He has also performed across the USA, the UK and Europe. In 2013 he toured Europe with Alt-J and Princess Chelsea.
In 2009 he opened for Casiotone For The Painfully Alone in Auckland.
